School Tours with a Twist: Learning Outside the Classroom

Every year we host SCHOOL TOURS at Greenan Maze.  Teachers love our farm because our tours naturally complement classroom topics. From SESE (Social, Environmental and Scientific Education) themes to lessons on local history, sustainability, and biodiversity, students gain real-world context that deepens their understanding.

Activities are tailored to different age groups, making our tours perfect for both junior and senior primary levels. By blending structured learning with active play, students return to school not only entertained but inspired and ready to reflect on what they’ve discovered.

Many schools return year after year, and teachers often tell us how much their pupils talk about their visit long after the tour is over.

Review 2026: “Our Senior Infants had a fantastic day at Greenan Maze (June 2026) and we would highly recommend it as a school tour destination.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff who met us off the bus and clearly explained the layout and schedule for the day. The team were extremely accommodating of our timings and ensured everything ran smoothly.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities, which were engaging, well organised and age-appropriate. The staff made each activity exciting and interactive, helping to keep the children interested and involved throughout the day.

The nature walk was a particular highlight. The surroundings are beautiful, and the boys were delighted to see the animals along the way. Despite the rainy weather, the sheltered areas provided an excellent space for us to have lunch comfortably.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable and well-organised day. Thank you to all the staff at Greenan Maze for making our visit such a positive experience. We look forward to returning in the future!”
