Great news we are finally allowed to re-open on 29th June 2020!
We have been closed since the lockdown began in March and have been waiting for the day to welcome visitors back to Greenan Maze. But we’ve been busy. During the Spring we’ve had 18 new lambs, 8 new chicks, 2 new bronze turkeys, 1 very cute new Scottish Highland calf and a litter of piglets on the way. Will has built a cool new coffee shop with rustic outdoor pavilion and refurbished craft shop interior.
So we are very excited to be planning our Re-Opening on the 29th of June and as the SAFETY of our customers is our top priority, there will be some changes onsite…but as most of our amenities are outdoors, we are lucky to have ample space and fresh air to relax in safety.
There is no need to book a visit but if necessary, we will have to control numbers entering the farm and the maze….this may cause some queues at busy times so please have patience with us as we do our best to make your visit a safe and happy experience.
We have plenty of space with approx. 10 acres of outdoor grounds, 2 large outdoor mazes, 3 indoor museums, nature walks including a treasure hunt and fairy tree trail, coffee shop and plenty of farm animals. It’s a fun day out for all the family so bring a picnic and enjoy our farm in safety.
All our visitors are advised to wear masks and gloves as per govt guidelines, use hand sanitiser, adhere to social distancing guidelines and follow our protocols onsite which will be clearly marked at each amenity. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Disposable gloves and hand sanitiser will be available as necessary and we will have some masks for sale in the new coffee shop if required.
The coffee shop will have takeaway sandwiches, snacks and cakes as well as great organic coffees and undercover outdoor seating is available with ample space for social distancing.
We welcome you to bring a picnic as we have many picnic tables outside with loads of space for socially distanced family picnics but please take all rubbish home with you.
This year we joined the Leave No Trace campaign and we encourage the “7 R’s of Zero Waste Living” which asks you to first “Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rehome, Replant, Rot” before you consider using the Rubbish Bin. We also want to help you appreciate nature and the outdoors and we urge you to check out Wearetheark.org and The All Ireland Pollinator Plan 2015-2020.
All frequently used areas will be cleaned regularly so please be patient if amenities are closed for short periods to facilitate cleaning and disinfecting. Most of our amenities are outdoors but we will need your cooperation as we will be implementing all the requirements of the COVID-19 National Protocols for reopening.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
