Nature Trail & Sculptures

Starting the walk

The nature trail is a tranquil walk which meanders by the Ballinanty Brook through beautiful unspoilt countryside and nature reserve. It leads to the new Dragonfly Walk.

The Dragonfly Walk is a raised wooden walkway that leads through native woodlands and wetlands and has three ponds with raised viewing platforms. It is an unspoilt area which supports an abundance of wild life such as wild deer, moorhens, frogs and dragonflies.

Many trees have been planted. More than one hundred different species are already in place. Some notable specimens include the Handkerchief Tree (Davidia Involucraia), Weeping Silver Lime (Tilia Tomentosa), Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia Glytostroboides), Oak plantations and many species of Maple.

The aim is to create an arboretum for future generations.

Sculpture:
Local artists exhibit their sculptures at various locations along the nature trail. You may contact Jonathan Wheeler if you are interested in displaying your outdoor sculptures or wish to purchase any of the exhibits.
